For investors
Belgium is currently home to three start-up companies who are active in the fields of phage and lysin therapy.

Inteliphage
Inteliphage is a Belgian biotech company that is developing personalized phage-based therapies to combat multidrug-resistant bacterial infections. Inteliphage combines a large collection of phages, a fast identification of suitable phages, a GMP phage production facility and an integrated supply chain to deliver standardized phages for personalized therapy. Contact Inteliphage.

Obulytix
Obulytix is a spinoff from Ghent University and KU Leuven that develops phage lysin-based antimicrobials to tackle the growing problem of antimicrobial resistance. Phage lysins are miniscule scissors that can degrade bacterial cells walls through a unique mode of action. To accomplish this, Obulytix has built a platform that brings patented technology for a rapid discovery and development process. Contact Obulytix.

Landman.Bio
Landman.Bio develops natural and sustainable bacteriophage-based solutions to combat bacterial infections in crops, thereby replacing chemical treatments and antibiotics in fruit and vegetable production. This start-up collaborates closely with KU Leuven and ILVO for B2B developments of phage products. Contact Landman.Bio.
For patients
The Belgian Queen Astrid Military Hospital has an outstanding reputation in the treatment of multidrug-resistant bacterial infections using personalized phage therapies. If you are dealing with a resistant bacterial infection and are looking into phage therapy, the easiest way to get in touch with Belgian clinicians is by sending an email to pt@mil.be.
For researchers and academics
Whether you are a young graduate looking to start a PhD, a graduate looking for excellent postdoctoral opportunities or a senior academic that wants to switch to industry or policymaking, the Belgian Phage Valley has plenty of opportunities to jump into. Feel free to contact one of our academic PIs or other leaders in government roles or at companies.
Academic researchers can find funding opportunities on the website of FWO (for hosting in Flanders- and Dutch-speaking Brussels-based groups) or on FNRS (for hosting in Wallonia- and French-speaking Brussels-based groups. Other funding opportunities can be found in consultation with the diverse group leaders.
